Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is PSN-Bound

Konami has revealed it will resurrect Castlevania: Symphony of the Night via PlayStation Network.

The 2D side-scroller was originally released in 1997 and was the first game in the series to offer an open-world level design and RPG elements. The game places you in control of Alucard as he tries to hunt down his vampiric nemesis, Dracula, using both spells and swords.

The game will be available in Europe from October 10 for £10.99. We've reached out to Konami for details about an American release and will update the story when we know more.

Metal Gear Rising and ZOE HD Collector's Editions Revealed

Konami has revealed Collector's Editions for both Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and Zone of the Enders HD Collection at its San Francisco Gamer's Night.

The Metal Gear Rising Collector's Edition will include the game, the soundtrack and a "High Frequency Plasma Lamp" with a replica of Raiden's blade embedded in it.

The Zone of the Enders Collector's Edition will feature the game, the soundtrack and a special 100-page art book.

Prices for the Collector's Editions were not revealed.

New Little King's Story Vita Release Date

If you're anxious to try New Little King's Story on PlayStation Vita, the wait just got shorter. Konami says that the "action adventure title" will be downloadable October 2nd in North America and South America. No UK or AU dates were announced.

"New Little King's Story follows players as they assume the role of King Corobo, tasked with reclaiming his kingdom from the Devil King, 'The Nightmare,' " Konami said in a release. "Players will experience an incredible journey as they visit seven different kingdoms and battle against evil dark lords that have captured the royal princesses. As King, gamers will need to lead their Royal Guard in every grand battle, and plan attacks wisely as they grow their populations and broaden their territories."

The original Litle King's Story debuted on the Wii in 2009. The Vita version touts "upgraded 2D and 3D visuals, and utilizes intuitive touch controls, including the PlayStation Vita system rear touch pad. Players can also enjoy a myriad of newly added online features including downloadable content, item combining co-operative play, and online leaderboards."

Metal Gear Rising on 360 Cancelled in Japan, Still on for West

The Xbox 360 version of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will still release in Western Markets, despite it being cancelled in Japan.

Konami announced this morning that the version of Platinum Games' upcoming hack 'n' slash planned for Microsoft's console in Japan had been canned, though no reason for the decision was given.

A statement given to IGN though confirms that this will have no impact on the game's Western release. It reads, "Metal Gear Rising Revengeance for Xbox 360 and PS3 will be released in the West as planned in February 2013."

While we can only speculate why the game was cancelled in Japan, it's probably due to the fact that the Xbox 360 isn't as well established as the PS3 over there, and is unlikely to be due to any performance issues pertaining to the game on Microsoft's console.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be released on February 19 in America and February 21 in Europe on PS3 and Xbox 360. A PC version was originally planned, but later cancelled.
