The Hobbit: EE, Mad Max Collection and More Are Headed to Blu-ray

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey isn't even out yet and Warner Home Video is already planning an extended edition home video release. This shouldn't come as too much of a shock considering the previous trilogy, The Lord of the Rings, also got lavish extended editions. What is surprising is just how early this announcement has come down the pipe.

The announcement was actually part of Warner's 90th Anniversary unveiling, where they revealed their full 2013 slate. You can read more about it here. Take a look at what else is in store:

If you'll note Q3, you'll see another big release on deck -- The Dark Knight Trilogy Ultimate Collector's Edition. This is not -- I repeat not -- the trilogy box set that's slated to be released in December. We previously reported that Warner Bros. was prepping another box set. It's unclear if that set will include new bonus features, or just a ton of cool swag.

Also note some of the other titles headed back to Blu-ray, including Enter the Dragon, The Exorcist, The Right Stuff, A Christmas Story and The Mad Max Collection. It also appears that Warner Bros. is preparing a restoration of the 1953 3D version of House of Wax! As always, stay tuned for more news regarding these titles!
