The Comics Run is now officially 100% text. Important note, though, that this will be the last one for a few weeks, as I'm heading on vacation and then to New York Comic-Con. So instead, look forward to other things in place of Comics Run. It'll be back the week of October 22.

Even though zero month is sadly disrupting the flow of the awesome The Others stoy arc, exploring the origins of Arthur and his discovery of his ties to Atlantis is certainly intriguing. Perhaps the revelations held within this issue will actually help to add more context to the current storyline, given how integral to The Others the history of Atlantis has been.
Plus, more sharks in anything makes it a must-read in my book.

We’ve gotten hints at some sort of past relationship between John Constantine and Zatanna throughout Justice League Dark, but this zero issue will finally put the TMZ rumors to rest and show what exactly happened between the pair of them. That’s a coupling that intrigues me even more so than Superman and Wonder Woman, so here’s hoping for some sweet magic-laced drama.
I guess an appearance by the Books of Magic would be cool too.
By Kelly Sue DeConnick & Dexter Soy | Marvel
The adventures of a time-traveling Carold Danvers continues this week as Kelly Sue DeConnick and Dexter Soy continue to show us just how rad this new iteration of the character is. There’s been a lot of feedback about how the new costume isn’t all that great-looking (it is) and how she shouldn’t have changed her superhero name (I’m glad she did), but none of that matters. What matters is that this series is firing on all cylinders out of the gate. You should get on board before this train passes you by.
By Greg Rucka & Marco Checchetto | Marvel
As bummed as I am for this iteration of The Punisher to be coming to an end, I can say that the events leading up to the concluding mini-series Punisher: War Zone have been nothing short of stellar. First we got to see Punisher (and his beard) thwip his way into hostile territory, and then, last issue, we were treated to some horrible events that unfolded as a result of Frank’s tunnel-vision.
As Rucka told us in an interview a while back, “Frank doesn’t want to live happily ever after.”

To be totally honest, it was only as I went to write this article that I actually looked to see what Happy was about. Just by nature of its creators – Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson – I was fine giving this book a blind buy, no questions asked. Turns out, the book is about a former cop turned hitman who, as these people are wont to do, is caught up in a job gone awry.
As if the creators weren’t enough, the story seems to be right up my alley as well. Talk about being happy.
By Chris Roberson & Rich Ellis | IDW Publishing
One of the more memorable creator-owned works to come from IDW Publishing this year, this unique spin on fairy tale myths is a dense but ultimately character-centric exploration of the fantasy genre. Collected in a lovely hardcover, this book should have fans of books like Fables drooling. Roberson builds a complex mythology here while artist Rich Ellis brings all of these crazy ideas to vibrant life with his lovely line work.
If you missed this one the first time around, be sure to snag it at your local comic shop this week.
