Did Maguire's Spidey Have Web-Shooters?

Is it possible that Sam Raimi's Spider-Man had a pair of web-shooters under that suit after all? At the 2001 Electronic Entertainment Expo, the very first teaser trailer for the film was revealed to fans, which featured some quick and seemingly unpolished shots of the masked hero swinging through the streets of New York City.

But what's interesting here -- particularly 31 seconds in -- is the shot of what appears to be a mechanical web-shooter on Tobey Maguire's wrist, which as we know was not a part of Raimi's established movie canon. In the final cut of the 2002 film, Peter Parker was shown to have organic web-shooting abilities instead. This of course was changed back in Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man reboot this summer.

This is really the first we've heard about mechanical web-shooters making it all the way to production in Raimi's version. Could this be a fake trailer? Either way, the video is still worth a look, if only for nostalgia's sake:
