Writer-director Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko) has set his sights on his next project, a true crime thriller titled Amicus, starring Nicolas Cage.
Spanning 25 years, the film will tell the true story of Lawrence Horn, a former record producer who is currently serving life in prison for hiring hit man James Perry to murder his wife, quadriplegic son and his wealthy family's overnight nurse.
According to Variety, Cage will play Rodney Smolla, one of the most influential First Amendment scholars of the past two decades. In the story, Smolla is hired to consult on the historic case.
Many once speculated that Corpus Christi would be Kelly's next project, but the cast never came together on that film, which now remains in development.
