Guardians of Middle-Earth Gets PS3 Release Date

Tolkien-inspired MOBA Guardians of Middle-Earth will release in the UK digitally on the PSN on December 4 and physically for the PS3 on December 7. In the US, both versions will be available on December 4.

No release date for the Xbox 360 version has been announced other than a vague "autumn", but the game will apparently cost 1200 MS points when it eventually does launch on Microsoft's console.

If you purchase the game through the Playstation Store it'll cost you £11.99/$14.99, while the boxed version will cost £24.99/$29.99. The reasoning behind the price difference is due to retail copies coming with pre-paid discounted access to future DLC, PSN vouchers and a season pass for the game.

Though the DLC on offer hasn't been fully detailed yet, it'll apparently consist of game maps, a bonus gameplay mode and additional characters, some of which are slated to be based on characters from the upcoming Hobbit movie.
